Building a Better World: Equal Pay Trailblazers

ABOUT

In the U.S., April 4th 2017 is recognized as Equal Pay Day — this date symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned the previous year. On average, a woman earns .80 cents for every dollar a man makes. To commemorate this date, Salesforce Chairman and CEO, Marc Benioff will host a conversation with equal pay pioneers that have dedicated their lives to fighting for equality.

Panelists include: Billie Jean King, humanitarian and sports icon, Patricia Arquette, Academy Award-winning actress, and Lilly Ledbetter, equal pay activist. This panel will discuss closing the gender wage gap and highlight how these leaders have personally championed the fight for equality. The session will open with an introduction on the disparities that women and children face around the world, by Saadia Zahidi Head of Education, Gender and Employment Initiatives, World Economic Forum.
